Out of Focus

Spin me around as fast
As you can
So that all I can see
Is you.
Our slippery hands clasp together
Tightly bonding the
Distance between us.
My surroundings a blur
But yet I see a glimpse
Of something new.
An attraction
I can’t let go of.
Just Molly and I
On a merry-go-round.
Letting the time pass us by
Like two teenagers
Wishing to leave
This place.

I Ask You

What could be better
than a cup of coffee,
coffee that tastes
black and bitter,
bitter like a crisp
fall day when the air,
the air is so thin
and full of attachment,
attachment that grabs
you by the throat and screams,
screams what could be better
than a cup of coffee?
